Seek Justice 4 Tahir Mahmud! Police in Danville, Virginia, say that the clerk at the Joy Food Mart was shot and killed Tuesday morning, September 12, 2017. Investigators were called to the business at 507 Riverside Drive. They were called just before 10:00 A.M. after receiving a report that a man had been found dead behind the counter of the convenience store. The Danville Life Saving Crew responded and found an unresponsive male who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was identified as 54-year-old Tahir Mahmud of Danville. Police say he was operating the store at the time and died of a gunshot wound. His death is being carried as a homicide. Investigators have not said whether the store was robbed.

FBI Gets Involved

A Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s deputy responded with a bloodhound to assist local police with a K-9 track. The search has turned up nothing. The FBI have joined in the investigation. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the subject(s) involved in this crime. ACcording to the FBI, investigation has revealed that both an armed robbery and a homicide has occurred at the Joy Food Store.Their investigation reveals that the victim, Mr. Tahir Mahmud, was found deceased by a store patron. Additionally, the cash register drawers to the business were open.

Tahir Mahmud has had his life taken from him. Little is known about this victim. Nothing is known about his family or the unknown suspects (s). But this is a family which will never spend another Christmas with Mahmud. They will never spend another birthday. All they have now are memories of him. And they have not seen anyone be brought to justice for the crime. This is also a safety and prevention matter, to prevent further victims.
