Information about the victims is limited to the facts that there were five of them. And they were female. It is unclear if they were minors or of legal age. But the charges make clear that the sexual activity was illegal. And so the victims were likely minors. It does not matter. People, children or adults, don’t exist to buy or sell. When we talk about human trafficking, it’s a arresting and convicting the human traffickers, one at a time. It is hoped that these five victims have received all the help, resources, education, and care they needed, to recover from their ordeals. Seeing their human traffickers be held accountable can bring them closure.
