More Tips

Missed Opportunity

The caller to America’s Most Wanted was reportedly disconnected before he could speak to Springfield investigators. Authorities believe that the person held vital information connection to the women’s triple disappearance. Despite public pleas for assistance, the individual never contacted authorities again. Investigators searched an area of land in Webster county, Missouri, in August 1993. Authorities reportedly refused to announce what was located at the site and if anything had to do with the disappearances.

Two Tipsters

In 2002, investigators received a tip from two women. It led authorities back to the same county for an additional search. The woman said that two men worked at the local concrete company that once owned the site near Marshfield, Missouri. According to the tipsters, the individuals drive a van like the vehicle that may have been used in the case of the three missing women. The tipsters claimed that the men left Springfield soon after Sherrill, Suzanne, and McCall disappeared.

Dead Ends

The two men did work at the company in 1992. Authorities determined this. But they couldn’t identify the individuals or confirm that they drove a van. In late July 2002, cadaver dogs reportedly found two areas of interest at the site. Authorities warned that the dogs’ findings didn’t prove that human remains were buried in the area. According to authorities, it was unlikely that the sites were connected to the triple disappearance of the women. Several officials accused the former police chief of hindering their investigation into the case in the late 1990’s.

Attacker (s) N Family Dog

Other officials dispute the accusation against the police chief. They said that little evidence was available in the case from its onset. One of the original investigators guessed the the women’s attacker (s) took Cinnamon out of Sherrill’s yard. This was done during the overnight hours of June 7. They tried to access the home. Cinnamon is the family’s Yorkshire Terrier. Investigators guessed that the attacker (s) knocked on the door. They faked rescuing the dog after he wandered from their home.
