Hassidy Leigh Bates is a prime example of how missing searches are unequal even among teenage girls. Absolutely no results have come up no matter what keywords I used to search for a press release for her. Facebook was not much better. No one among her loved ones or friends could be found on Facebook. This girl is listed as having disappeared three days before Christmas. Is it that police somehow do not see Bates as being endangered, even an endangered runaway? Is that why they have not issued any press releases? And what about the boyfriend? This case seems full of holes and makes little sense. It is perplexing that Bates and her boyfriend have not contacted their families over the holidays and have remained missing throughout Christmas Day.

HAPPY UPDATE: Hassidy Leigh Bates has been found safe! She posted on her Facebook page:

Again, I am ok I’m not missing. I’m living on my own right now and no longer in a relationship and Ive just put everything in God’s hands and I won’t be having a kid anytime soon but I pray and know that God is doing things for a reason greater than any other.

It seems that there are two families involved who have missed ones ones. And they have not been home on Christmas. Information is very limited on this case and so we know little about the boyfriend. He is not listed as missing. Hassidy is, but she does not seem to be in any system. Her loved ones, wherever they are, have to be frustrated about this lack of awareness for their missing young person. If she is a runaway, she is an endangered runaway. Whatever the issues are that have kept her missing through Christmas, someone (s) knows something! Do you have any information about the whereabouts of Hassidy Leigh Bates? If you have info, please contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at: (276) 728-4146. Or you can contact the Hillsville Police Department at (276) 728-2251.
